Nurse
My family's horses and old cat helped me to inspire my pathway, and I started working as a trainee nurse whilst at secondary school in this area at the age of 14 at a mixed animal practice. I assisted with treating both farm and domestic pets, often volunteering outside of my rostered hours. Experiences varied from Emergency and Critical Care to Welfare veterinary work at a very large shelter, where I loved educating clients on responsible pet ownership, and assisted in rehoming pets with their most suitable fit. I travelled on behalf of the National Pet Register, microchipping thousands of dogs and cats across Australia, helping to significantly increase the number of pets that are reunited with their families. I enjoyed an active role in racing stables and broodmare AI, reproduction and foaling. Covid lockdowns saw me return to Vet Nursing (after hiatus) as a consulting nurse at a very busy clinic providing support ranging from senior pet care, nutritional advice, and wound care. Fur Life Vet in Tarneit has provided me with lots of Best Mates, our most popular breed being Cavoodles (Chewie pictured is one of my favourites). Outside of work I am a dedicated Western Bulldogs member.
